ABOUT ME
Hi! I’m Liza Eckert, and I’m a Philly-based RYT-200 yoga teacher. My philosophy is that if you want to do yoga, you can do yoga. You don’t have to be a certain age, or a certain size, you can do it if you’re injured, disabled, or haven’t exercised in a long time. I believe yoga should be adjusted to work with you, not the other way around.
I approach yoga, and all fitness and wellness, from a Health At Every Size perspective. That means I believe in doing things that make your body feel good and work at its best, instead of focusing on weight as a barometer of health. For more info on HAES, visit the ASDAH website.
In addition to not using weight as a measurement of health, health is not a measurement of your worth. “Health” is a concept that is different for everyone, and is not achievable by all. You are a valuable person, worthy of humanity, dignity, and respect, no matter what. Even if you don’t fit into someone else’s criteria of “healthy.”
But if you want to do yoga, I’m here for you. You can do it.

We want absolutely all bodies to be celebrated and idolised, represented and glorified.

I believe in glorifying all bodies. All of them. Because every single person in the entire world deserves to feel good about and love themselves. It’s that simple.
